My Boomerangs
Prehistoric aerodynamic “Throwing Sticks” have been found world-wide, one notably in Tutankhamun’s tomb. These early “Hunting Sticks” differ from returning boomerangs in being larger and having only a shallow angle giving a long low elliptical trajectory. Australian aborigines developed the smaller more acutely angled returning boomerangs which were probably used for sport.
Anyone able to throw a ball will be able to gain proficiency but remember, boomerangs were developed to fell prey and without care may cause injury.
Standard Boomerangs
These are made to specific designs from plywood or laminated hardwood, mainly Ash. All are available as right or left handed. Right handed boomerangs cannot be thrown with the left hand and vice-versa. Boomerangs will be supplied as right-handed unless the left-handed option is ticked.
Branchwood Boomerangs
These are made from natural elbows found in branchwood on the forest floor. Each is unique although more than one can often be obtained from some elbows and are very similar. All are of native hardwoods but the species cannot always be ascertained. Unless listed as “Left-handed”, all will be “Right-handed”.
